this little guy will either be a big win formarvel, or a big problem for marvel... you're watching beyond the trailer’s review of - finally - ant-man! thanks to shifting release dates - the marvelcinematic universe is always in flux with edgar wright quitting there, spider-man beingadded there - ant-man is the final film in phase 2. with avengers age of ultron splitdown the middle, phase 2 is an even mix of fan favorites and fan disappointments, withant-man set to be the tie-breaker. indeed, we don’t get another marvel movie untilnext summer when phase 3 kicks off with captain america civil war, so whatever taste ant-manleaves in audience's’ mouths will be a lingering one. and it’s a real nail-biter. early screeningshave some saying ant-man is a total crowdpleaser
where michael pena steals the show! ironic,as star paul rudd is usually the one who steals the show. but others say ant-man is boring...boring?! ridiculous, says kevin feige! and to prove just how exciting ant-man is, hehas personally revealed that the wasp will make a cameo, as will an avenger, plus pymparticles and the quantum realm are totally going to come into play in phase three. wordis there’s also not one but two after-credit scenes with will blow...your...mind! theseare all signature marvel moves by the way. hints at future character, cast crossovers,after-credit teasers and the overall idea that if you miss a marvel movie you’ll beout of the loop going forward. it’s a very ornate yet clever game plan which has, todate, worked incredibly well for marvel even
if it made joss whedon have a hissy-fit. bythe way, rumor has it that the avenger cameo is by falcon, which is pretty awesome becausethat would make him an official avenger instead of a place-holder as many fans feared. nowof course, everybody is also going to be curious to see how this frankenstein’s monster ofa movie has turned out. edgar wright and joe cornish toiled on the script for eight yearsbefore wright did what whedon might now have wished he’d done, which is walk away...peyton reed ending up taking over as director, while paul rudd and will ferrell’s longtimecreative partner adam mckay went to work on the script. which, by the way, focuses stronglyon father-daughter relationships, both scott and cassie lang as well as hank pym and hopevan dyne - which marvel obviously doesn’t
feel too strongly about or they would’veplayed it up more in the marketing. and speaking of being legit, rudd has already filmed hisscenes for civil war, where he said he truly felt he was a part of the marvel cinematicuniverse for the first time... let’s see if we’ll also need civil war to convinceus rudd belongs here...
